Established through the efforts of the Society of Neuro Vascular Interventions (SNVI) in collaboration with leading neurointervention centers, the fellowship provides comprehensive academic, clinical, and hands-on training in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases.
The program aims to bridge the growing treatment gap in stroke and neurovascular disorders by training highly skilled specialists capable of delivering advanced endovascular care.
- Structured and comprehensive curriculum
- Hands-on exposure to neurointerventional procedures
- Training under experienced neurointervention experts
- Academic teaching, case discussions, journal clubs, and research activities
- Exposure to acute stroke intervention, aneurysm treatment, AVM management, and other cerebrovascular procedures
- Fellowship duration: 2 Years (at designated training centers)

Fellowship In Neuro Vascular Intervention
Emerging Subspecialty
Neuro Intervention is now established as a separate subspecialty in minimally invasive therapy involving the central nervous system (Interventional Neurology/ Endovascular Neurosurgery).
Global Standards
Training programs across the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan train physicians with backgrounds in neurosciences, neuroradiology, and neurology in these newer techniques.
World Class Tech
Devices for stroke, cerebral aneurysms, and traumatic vascular lesions are FDA approved, including microcatheters, detachable coils, balloons, stents, and embolic agents.
Stroke Awareness & Indian Context
Stroke is a leading cause of mortality: According to World Stroke Association, 1 in 6 people will have a stroke in their lifetime (80% are ischemic). In India, there are hardly any trained Neuro Interventionists for acute ischemic stroke. It is vital that neuroscientists are properly trained to reduce disability and death.
Objectives of Program
To make the fellow proficient in following aspects of Interventional Neurology and Stroke:
Signs and symptoms of disorders amenable to diagnosis and treatment by Neuro Intervention techniques.
Basic neurological examinations to evaluate patients with these neurological disorders.
Pathophysiology and natural history of these disorders.
Indications and contraindications to Neuro Intervention procedures.
Clinical and technical aspects of Neuro Intervention procedures.
Reporting of diagnostic and follow-up Digital Subtraction Angiograms.
Pre and post procedure management of neuro Interventional patients.
Communication with referring doctor, patient, and family.
